Life does not have a rewind button.

शमथ। Samatha

What if life indeed had a button to rewind? You could have picked up from where you think could have made a different turn. You are like a child obsessed with time travel. The only difference is that the child wants to do it for the fun of it while you think your life is not where it is supposed to be. The child in their freedom will travel both ways, to the future as well as the past, but you will be stuck with the past.

We do not have any such rewind button except the reset button due to which we all get a new
birth. To feel bad about your past may look good in a movie with a tragic end, but in real life, it is the most irresponsible thing you can do. You have taken a wrong decision and it has played a part in bringing you where you are. Do you have any guarantee that if you are taken back to the
past you will not make the exact decision you took then? In your eagerness, you may want to
shout yes, but you will not.

Almost everyone looks at life as a journey from point to point. Life is not a budget airline for that.
Each decision of yours is built up within you over years of sensory inputs. Can you pinpoint the
particular sensory input that was responsible for you to make such a decision? Even if your whole brain is connected to electrodes your entire life and the most talented consciousness scientist is making observations without a break, you will be long dead before anyone could trace that.

You are receiving sensory inputs every day. Not a moment of your life you are free from
gathering data. Pay attention to the ones you are receiving today. Know that each one of them are building themselves within you independently. What you have to do today is to drive them in the right direction. Feeling bad, exhilarated, etc. are mental games. Do not fall for those. Play the games, but do not let the games pull you in.
