Do not be stuck to the past; you will miss the present - Mahagathe

Do not be stuck to the past; you will miss the present

Do not be stuck to the past; you will miss the present

शमथ। Samatha

The twinkling star you see as you sit watching the night sky is your wake-up call to the moment
you are in. Sitting there, watching it, you cannot tell whether the star is still where it was or not.
But it brightens your night and your mind.

Life is a blessing. When you approach life as a singularity, you cannot have any other
experience just like the star you see. But you have trained yourself to think event to event and
subject your memory to the hormones that were secreted at a particular event. Thus the division
is created.

Instead of being, you long for a memory. You think that the memory can rejuvenate you. But it, in
fact robs you of your present. Next time you are after a particular memory worrying about how
better it would have been if nothing changed, keep a watch of the time. Before going to sleep
write down how much work you did under the influence of such a memory. Compare it with your
work when you are not under such an influence. You do not have to be a mathematician to
decipher how you have been harming yourself.

The dawn is here, soon there will be sun. Embark on your duties in the light; you cannot bring
back yesterday’s sun.

Feel Blessed
