Do not wait for the future to bring you glad tidings, appreciate the richness of the moment.

Do not wait for the future to bring you glad tidings, appreciate the richness of the moment.

शमथ। Samatha

When you are disappointed, it takes away the will to work and drags you back to a point which
was before today. This leads you to disconnect with reality, bypass the present moment and link
the past point with a future that you think is better than what you have.

This moment may in fact contain something that did not quite meet your expectation. But by
being dejected because of that, you neglect everything else that was benevolent and favourable
to you. As a result, anything you do from thereon will be half-hearted and a reaction to the
disappointment.

By being disappointed, you are not only being irresponsible, but you are throwing away what is
of value for your vanity. You end up being a slave of tomorrow that never comes, and the
tombstone of a dead perception.

Irrespective of what or who this moment brings, be grateful. If you do not practice this now,
tomorrow too will be a disappointment.
