You shall overcome painful memories by addressing them, not by putting up a good front.

Wearing heavy makeup may hide a pimple for a while, but will it be healed? Healing requires
all energy to be dedicated to it. This requires time and space dedicated absolutely to it. This is
the meaning of a retreat.

A retreat is not a holiday. A holiday is a break from the routine. A retreat is a transformational
workshop. The one who comes out of a retreat is not the same person who entered it. You are
equipped with a new set of tools to meet with life every day.

Things which can trigger a memory can be found anywhere. It may be an old photograph, a
particular smell, a song, it could be anything. The retreat has equipped you with a new set of
senses to relate with all these. But it is you who have to use them. By preferring to use your old
awareness over the new, you are taking the pain to bed with you.

Temporary solutions are not what you need. There is no point in showing the world that you are
strong when you are dying within. Get back to the retreat and live your life joyously.
