You seem to know the value of money, but why do you forgo the self!
It is very rare to find someone who does not want money. It is equally rare to find someone who
wants to know himself or herself. Knowing oneself is reduced to an exercise limited to times
when one is depressed or not having things going the way one wants. Here too it is simply the
wants and needs that are addressed, and not the real self. When the low tide passes, you forget
that little something too.
Money and Self are connected. Just as money is required to fulfill your daily needs, knowledge
of the Self is inevitable to meaningfully enjoy your needs. You may say that self has nothing to
do with money, but the fact is without paying attention to the self, the creation of wealth is a daily
struggle. By separating the two, you are signing up for a life that is an everyday struggle, to be
filled up with emotional sops to forget the pain.
Stop overvaluing money. It is important not to look at those who are wealthy and wish, “I wish I
too were rich like him or her”. Someone else’s wealth is their creation. By cringing about
someone else’s wealth, you are in fact killing the creative spirit in you. With the creative spirit
down, you have no way of turning your life around.
The Self is absolute, and money is lower. In this realm, the lower cannot be avoided but has to
be in the service of the higher. It is time to break your old moulds of thinking and tune into
