Right action without awareness of time and space is impure.

शमथ। Samatha

Action performed at the right place at the right time to the right person is termed pure. The same
action performed to the same person at an inappropriate time or space is termed impure. It too
is termed impure when the same action is performed to an undeserving person at the right time
and space.

A battle ground is not the place to practice penance. Similarly, a prayer room is not the place to
call for war. Failing to honour the sanctity of time and space means to create disorder and
chaos in the society. The deserving and undeserving are determined based on the actions each
one performs. The one who is unable to figure out time and space keeps falling from grace.

It is important to examine whether your actions are pure or impure. You will encounter your
biggest enemy here. It is non-other than your self-importance. Do not give it any credit. You are
not your self-importance. Receiving the right knowledge is your key to opening the lock of
self-importance. Recognizing this and being determined to be free of it will help you to receive
the knowledge with relative ease.

By choosing to perform actions which are pure, you are doing a great service to yourself as well
as the society. Your true self will emerge in the place of your egoistic self. Do not trade your
freedom for self-importance.
