“I wish I were not born” is something I have heard from many people. This wish is mostly a
result of frustration. What is the underlying cause of frustration? It is the feeling that ‘I deserve
better’. This is called self-entitlement. More talk and less work is a characteristic feature of these
people. At times they get into overdrive followed by prolonged inaction characterised by
depressive tendency.

Fear of failure is another characteristic feature of people who feel they are entitled. Very often a
veil of superiority is put on to hide this fear. This wears out the wearer quickly, leading to
inaction characterised by depression. Self-destructive thoughts, actions, etc are displayed in
those times by these otherwise normal people. Very often these people live in denial than taking help.

To have the life you want, you must create it. A commoner looks at a king and thinks how
enjoyable a king’s life is. It is very rare to find a commoner who thinks of the responsibilities
which rest on the shoulder of a king. Take control of your life and perform the right action, you
too shall create a happy and abundant life. Do not live in fear. Have the right thoughts to
complement your actions. Do not think that people are against you when they throw stones at
you or beat you or try to climb up on you. They are after the fruits that grow on you.

Cheer yourself up. Accept that all trees have to fall one day. Some might even get felled. The
bird droppings are not aimed at you. Life cannot be stopped.
